Timely Flood Relief: Extending a Helping HandOn Sunday, 15th September 2024, the families of ‘Myeik Maung Taik Natural Bird’s Nest, ‘Myeik Maung Taik Kat Kyi Kike’, and ‘UNIVERSE – Your Digital Partner’ visited and made donations to those affected by the floods.
Since the flood-affected areas are the native villages of four children from our staff members’ families, connections were made and donations were delivered to the flood victims in Kyaukkyap Group and Thaya Aye Village, Zeyarthiri Township, where around 200 houses were submerged. Donations were also extended to flood victims sheltering at the Kyittauk Kan No. 3 Quarter Monastery Relief Camp, under the guidance of Sayadaw U Medananda. The beneficiaries included families from Kulah Village (Men – 93, Women – 148, Households – 65), Aye Myint Thaya (Men – 25, Women – 32, Households – 18), Tharyat Thamein (Men – 15, Women – 23, Households – 11), Thaya Kone (Men – 13, Women – 25, Households – 10), and Ywar Taw (Ywar Thit) (Men – 2, Women – 5, Households – 1). In total, assistance reached 105 households (148 men and 228 women) of flood victims.
Donations to the flood-affected people included lunch boxes, jars of fermented fish paste, dried noodles, medicines, oral rehydration salts, bottled drinking water, bottles of Myeik Maung Taik Natural Bird’s Nest, canned fish, clothing, footwear, and other essential items.
